Pre-launch User Research
As part of my work at Context, I was part of the team behind a user research project for Nuance Audio, who developed a first-of-its-kind product: smart glasses that provide personalized sound amplification for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
The goal of the research was to evaluate the audiological and experiential aspects of the product in the context of users’ daily lives. We recruited a group of beta users with varying levels of hearing loss and observed their interaction with the device over time, focusing on communication needs, behavioral changes, and key pain points.
Throughout the study, we began to identify and segment users into distinct groups based on their characteristics and experiences. This helped the Nuance team better understand different user needs and behaviors, and refine the target audience to clarify who the product best serves.
